Johnson & Johnson is recruiting for a Manager, LXD Client Services located in Tampa, FL. This onsite role is eligible to participate in J&J Flex hybrid model of working at least 3 days in the office each week, and up to 2 days remote.

The Manager, LXD Client Services will be a strategic partner/customer relationship manager that will align with J&J Business Partners to share Learning Design & Development (LDD) service capabilities, document related business needs, provide, track, and manage signed Learning Service Agreements, and provide necessary documentation to Finance for cross-charge, and develop and manage a forecast yearly calendar. They will also manage a roadmap timeline documenting when services will start for new businesses, including pricing agreements and alignment on start dates aligned to when associated staff will be hired & trained. They will provide a quarterly report to each business partner outlining the projects that are completed, in progress, and not started during a 12-month period, along with additional metrics and clarifications to ensure the business partner has a high-level overview understanding of the services being provided and what is upcoming.

They will support their LXD team members through establishing and implementing targeted learning strategies, utilizing Agile to provide “iteration” project management on team projects to design and develop LDS products, performing “people manager” activities in managing the LXD Team members, and ensuring the application of adult learning theories in the design and development of learning content.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Superior Client relationship management skills – Create and maintain a client partnership. Function as a single point of contact and provide consistent support across aligned business partners for the intake of learning projects into GSC LDD:

o Perform initial consultation conversations, provide an overview of LDD services to new clients, conduct Pre-discovery where applicable, during intake , and align with business partners and GSC LDD stakeholders to ensure project requests get approved through the right channels and prioritized against the current approved project list before being added to the demand plan. Attend demand planning calls with various business partner(s)/groups as applicable.

o Ensure proper documentation is provided at intake, e.g., Discovery Document (needs analysis/requirements), and that the level of readiness is high prior to intake. They will consult and train business partner requestors as needed to ensure successful intake and start of projects. The Manager, LXD Client Services will align with the GEO on support for Continuous Improvement opportunities identified within scope.

  • Strategic Learning Consulting skills – Advise, intervene, influence, and bring professional or technical learning expertise to support client business goals and objectives.
  • Program and Project Management skills – Partner with client to document demand plan to include all pipeline and active projects: completed/in-progress/not started for a rolling 12-month period. Execute SCRUM Master activities, including:

o managing LXD teams in the effective use of SCRUM events

o resolving conflicts with a continual focus on the SCRUM values

o identifying and removing impediments slowing down LDD

o assessing squad Agile maturity and coaching teams toward constant self-evaluation and improvement

o employing modern project planning and collaboration tools.

  • People Leadership skills – Manage a team of Sr. Specialist LXDs , including overseeing project work, assigning tasks, scheduling/leading project meetings, managing team workloads, clarifying communication priorities, managing J&J’s “5 Conversations”, and developing, coaching, and engaging direct reports to build a high-performance team.
  • Instructional Design - Utilize learning design and development education, skillset, and experience to support the LXD team members in designing learner-focused instructional materials such as micro-learning modules, curricula, job aids, eLearning, PowerPoint decks, simulations, videos, assessments, and blended learning solutions to support digital on-demand, live face to face and virtual facilitator-led training.

Gen AI – Foster a collaborative environment where the LXD team can share ideas, insights, and challenges related to Gen AI. Ensure the LXD team has access to the necessary resources and tools to leverage Gen AI effectively. Support the LXD team in utilizing Gen AI to optimize efficient processes.

  • Perform Scrum Master activities:

o Managing LXD teams in the effective use of Scrum events: daily scrum, backlog review, sprint planning, sprint demo and retrospective.

o Resolving conflicts with a continual focus on the Scrum values of openness, honesty, commitment, courage, and respect.

o Identifying and removing impediments slowing down LDD, as well as shielding the team from external interruptions and distractions.

o Assessing squad Agile maturity and coaching teams toward constant self-evaluation and improvement at a sustainable pace.

o Utilizing excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with product stakeholders to manage backlog and plan deliverables that provide business value.

o Employing modern project planning and collaboration tools.

o Managing the project financials.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required. A master’s degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate learning design & development and corporate learning strategy OR a minimum of 3 years of experience with an advanced degree.
  • Experience analyzing business requirements, conducting training needs analysis, formulating training solutions, and measuring training effectiveness.
  • Understanding and practical application of adult learning principles, ADDIE Model, Kirkpatrick evaluation model, learning delivery methods, competency models, curriculum design, and LMS is required.
  • Experience as a people leader is preferred.
  • Experience in Shared Services company is preferred.
  • Demonstrates enterprise mindset and operates as a global leader, with understanding and appreciation for regional differences required.
  • Excellent relationship management, listening skills, and demonstrated track record building strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills are required.
  • Effective communication skills with employees and stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Understanding and application of basic project management tools and practices to lead a training project and/or connect training support to a business project plan are required.
  • Inclusive, flexible, and adaptive working across time zones with remote colleagues and stakeholders, is required.
  • Approximately 10-15% domestic and international travel is required.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $99,000 - $170,200. The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
