JOB PURPOSE
The IT Audit Manager will be reporting to the Audit Director and is responsible for conducting risk-focused audits; advising business units on the design, implementation, and maintenance of internal controls; and promoting compliance with CIBC policies and procedures, accounting standards, control policies, and applicable legislation. The role applies advanced concepts to provide expertise in the development and completion of monthly audit reports, quarterly audit reports, and ongoing legal entity reports to key stakeholders. The IT Senior Auditor works with business units to assess the adequacy of controls and develop realistic solutions to control-identified weaknesses using best practices. Acting as a resource integrator for their area, the role independently resolves complex matters, advising the business of best practices to help mitigate short or medium term risks and exposures.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Work collaboratively with audit management and other audit team members to plan and execute risk-based audits, report audit results and perform continuous monitoring of management's control environment. Participate in internal projects to improve and simplify audit processes.
  • Effectively manage multiple audit assignments at different stages of the audit cycle and complete required tasks on a timely basis. Communicate regularly with the team and manager to provide updates on progress.
  • Participate in the annual planning, risk assessment and continuous monitoring exercise and work with the director in making sure the universe is complete and appropriately assessed.
  • Advise management and business partners of best practices and promote compliance with CIBC policies and procedures, accounting standards and regulatory requirements
  • Work with limited oversight to lead and support execution of technology (i.e. Access Management, change Management, SDCL, Cybersecurity, Cloud audit etc.) and integrated audits and other projects and be proactive in understanding and applying the CIBC Audit methodology.
  • Understand technology and business processes and risks to be able to identify key controls for audit engagement. Finalize scope and develop testing strategies for team members along with managing multiple team members on audit engagements.
  • Involve and be able to execute in all phases of audit lifecycle (Planning, Fieldwork and Reporting).
  • Effectively identify deficiencies and draft issue language by identifying root causes rather than symptoms of control weaknesses and assist management in developing appropriate action plans.

COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS/RESPONSIBILITIES

AUTHORITIES/DECISION RIGHTS
  • As a key contributor to the business unit, this job has the authority to recommend changes to business processes in order to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
  • Bachelor or equivalent degree in Accounting and Finance or Information systems and a professional designation (e.g., CISA, CRISC, CISSP, CISM, PA).
  • Minimum 8+ years' experience in planning and executing SOX and/or IT audits including but not limited to Access Management, Change Management, SDLC, cybersecurity and Cloud audits. Relevant experience in testing application controls preferred.
  • Experience executing risk based IT audits leveraging IT governance and controls framework COBIT and NIST etc.
  • Excellent project oversight and leadership skills with a keen interest in process improvement.
  • Superior time management skills, with ability to effectively prioritize and multitask in a dynamic environment.
  • Can operative effectively as a lead and as an individual contributor.
  • Strong relationship management and interpersonal skills
  • Track record of successfully coordinate cross-function teams
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and ability to effectively present information within and across team both verbally and in writing
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint
  • Exposure to the regulatory landscape of the banking industry
  • Risk data and/or modeling, model risk management experience an asset

California residents - your privacy rights regarding your actual or prospective employment
At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $120,000 - $150,000 for the New York, New York market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit's incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
