We are developing the future of Army Aviation with the Bell Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) and the Bell 360 Invictus Future Attack and Reconnaissance Aircraft (FARA), part of the US Army's Future Vertical Lift (FVL) modernization effort. We are also developing the Bell 525 Relentless, Bell's Autonomous Pod Transport (APT), and Bell's High-Speed Vertical Take-Off and Landing (HSVTOL) program, a next generation stop-fold tilt-rotor. Manager, IPT Engineering - Mission Systems
The Bell FLRAA Program has an opportunity available for Mission Systems leadership roles within the FLRAA Mission Systems Team.
The Mission Systems IPT Manager is responsible for the design, development, integration, procurement, and test of the Mission Systems Government Furnished Equipment and Systems.
System responsibilities include the developing the Mission Systems architecture to include strategic initiatives like Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) and Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
Additionally, cross functional team inclusion and input to integrate systems engineering, human factors, cyber security, safety, flight controls and avionics and vehicle systems.
What You'll Be Doing as a Senior Manager, IPT Engineering:
Managing and coaching Mission Systems engineers to ensure an engaged and skilled team responsible for design implementation and integration; requirements management; systems and component specifications; interface management; system safety assessment; validation and verification testing in systems integration labs; and aircraft flight test.Qualification of the Mission System subsystems.
Technical evaluation of suppliers and managing subcontracts including SOW, Specifications, ICDs, RFPs, and schedules.
Managing Mission System suppliers within the scope of development, integration and testing of Navigation and Guidance, Situational Awareness, or Mission Planning and Survivability.
Leading Mission Systems IPT through all phases of development from pre and detailed design, qualification, integration testing, flight test, and production.
Work collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams to define cross-functional interfaces and conduct air vehicle level trade studies as designs move from concept to production.
Manage and provide status updates on IPT Schedule, Cost Estimates, Risks, and staffing requirements.
Skills You Bring To this Role:
At least 10 years of experience in Mission Systems development, integration, and testing.Experience in aircraft installation, functional testing, and troubleshooting.
Knowledge of RTCA DO-160, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, RTCA DO-178, RTCA DO-254, SAE ARP4754A, SAE ARP4761, 14 CFR Part 27 and Part 29 for commercial and military qualification and certification of aircraft systems, and multiple data protocols.
Experience in development of system architectures and schematics.
Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering
Knowledge of Open Systems Standards (FACE, HOST, JCA, or MOSA (Modular Open Systems Architecture/Approach)
Experience with supplier management
Previous experience with project management
Previous leadership experience is preferred (including formal or informal, technical or non-technical).
Ability to gain a U.S. Govt Secret Security Clearance
What You Need to Be Successful:
Bachelor's degree with a Major in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineer, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.
Advanced degrees will be considered as additional experience. Related degrees with relevant experience will be considered.
