This management development program is designed to cover several areas of private club food & beverage operations consists of one continuous phase of training and development. Throughout a period of 12-months, MIT's training and development will focus on the following key areas of food & beverage management:
Dining Room & Dunes Shelter Operations
Catering & Banquet Operations
HR/Finance/Administrative Operations
This position reports directly to the Director of Food & Beverage and indirectly to each manager overseeing the respective area of development. While completing this development program the manager may also pursue development opportunities through the Club Management Association of America.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage dining venues and special events under the guidance of Assistant Director of Food & Beverage
- Apply academic learning to practical experiences
- Execute Management functions by demonstrating strong leadership and communications skills
- Practice and enhance member engagement and service, ensure staff is doing the same
- Complete projects in conjunction with management team
- Coach and develop staff
- Participate in the interview, on-boarding, evaluation and disciplining of staff
- Cultivate a work environment consistent of professionalism, teamwork, mutual respect, and accountability
MIT Qualifications
- Obtain a bachelor's degree in hospitality management from an accredited university by May 2024
- Strong ambition to become a leader within the Food & Beverage industry
- Available to relocate to Monterey Peninsula to begin program June 2024
- Minimum on year job or internship experience, preferably within hospitality or private club industry
- Basic knowledge of food & beverage operations, wine, beer, and spirits.
- Strong business acumen and ability to execute plans and standards
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on MPCC's needs
