The Manager - Imaging Services is responsible for supervising the day-to-day activities of the Imaging Services for departments designated including but not limited to Radiology, Ultrasound, CT, and Women Services. The manager ensures service operation, personnel management, resource allocation, and control in order to support and enhance patient care. This position is responsible for assuring the orientation, training, evaluation and specific job duties of the team members of the imaging department. This position is responsible for all the issues of quality care of exams performed and for providing a presentation tool for all QA measurements. This position performs all duties relating to the efficiency of the department. This position is responsible for departments to have a direct reporting structure to the positions as well as secondary reporting from the separate department managers. The position verifies the clinical activities of students assigned to diagnostic radiology and ultrasound that are in the technology programs.
Responsibilities
- Assumes responsibility along with the modality managers/supervisors for all daily operational needs department-wide, including staffing levels, work flow, patient scheduling, and supporting the departments in action.
- Oversees a QA program that consistently monitors and evaluates critical aspects of care.
- Accurately identifies real/potential problems affecting the service and implements solutions with follow through and communication.
- Actively participates on service, departmental, and hospital wide committees as assigned, providing ongoing communication to those represented.
- Participates in departmental project management, assuming a leadership role as warranted, in order to equitably assume these responsibilities with peer managers and direct reports.
- Responsible for on going development of staff and unit specific patient care programs.
- Accepts patients and assesses their condition to determine proper handling and special requirements.
- Performs all responsibilities / duties required by the department to perform examinations in area of expertise consultation.
- Maintains current knowledge/certification/licensure.
- Is responsible for department's operational excellence; ensures department delivers quality services in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and professional standards.
- Manage team members which include orientation, development and evaluation of personnel, and monitoring the provision of delivering quality services. Participates in the recruiting, interviewing and selecting of team members following policies, guidelines and applicable laws. Evaluates their performance relative to job goals and requirements. Provides coaching to staff, recommends in-service education programs, and ensures adherence to internal policies and standards.
- Is responsible for the fiscal management of department; assures proper utilization of organization's financial resources.
- Effectively communicates departmental, organization, and industry information to staff
Qualifications
Minimum Education
- Bachelor's Degree Radiology, Five years of related experience maybe considered in lieu of degree Required
Minimum Work Experience
- 5 years Experience in Radiology Required
- Previous supervisor/leadership experience Required
Licenses and Certifications
- Certified Radiology Technologist Licensed State of Florida Upon Hire Required
- Registered Technologist (ARRT) Upon Hire Required or
- RDMS ARDMS (RDMS) Upon Hire Required
- BLS for Healthcare Providers (BLS) Upon Hire Required
