The Market Development Specialists supports Intrinsic Therapeutic’s access to facilities and physician practices through education, training, and collaboration with external facility and practice customers and multiple internal departments, including but not limited to: Sales, Patient Access, Payor Access, Marketing, Practices, Hospitals, Ambulatory Surgery Centers, IDNs, and Healthcare Systems.
Primary Duties:
· Maintain expert level reimbursement knowledge (coding, coverage, payment) for the Barricaid procedure.
· Deliver and communicate reimbursement, health economic information, and tools to facility customers and physician practices (C-suite, hospital administration, Practice Administration, Health systems).
· Support for the company’s, as well as its customers,’ contract evaluation and negotiations with third-party payers.
· Maintain expert level understanding of U.S. health care financing systems, changes in payment and overall outpatient/facility reimbursement environments serving as a subject matter expert.
· Develop deep market access expertise in assigned geography and maintain knowledge of payer trends.
· Support regional education to facilities and physician practices on reimbursement education and managed care contracting solutions.
· Build and maintain working relationships with facility and physician practice customers and help develop key opinion leaders to support sales and health economic initiatives.
· Build and maintain working relationships with corporate entities and strategic accounts located within assigned region and identified by the company to support access to Barricaid.
· Develop deep relationships with Territory Managers including Area Vice Presidents. Serve as their reimbursement business partner.
· Support Sales Team with internal education on best practices, strategic initiatives, Health Economics, reimbursement, and contracting with facilities and physician practices.
· Develop deep relationships with Payor Access and Patient Access, to support practice and facility companies’ health economic initiatives.
· Support compliant tracking of reimbursement and coverage trends.
· Ensure all account activity is accurately reflected in company databases.
· Attend local tradeshows to support access for Barricaid.
· Conducts all activities in accordance with Intrinsic compliance policies and procedures.
· Other duties as assigned.
Critical Knowledge, Skill, Education, and Abilities:
· Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
· 3+ years of reimbursement experience in Medical Device, pharmaceutical/biotech, or healthcare industry.
· Basic reimbursement knowledge including coding, coverage and provider contracting.
· Demonstrated experience with addressing product access to practice and facilities.
· Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
· Demonstrated strong interpersonal, communication and relationship-building experience.
· Field account management skills and experience.
· Knowledge of industry dynamics and strategic planning orientation.
· Travel up to 50% or more.

Pay: $110,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
