To help us meet our mission LOTTE Biologics is in need of a Manager, EHS - Industrial Hygienewho will be responsible for executing the environmental, Industrial Hygiene and safety programs associated with the development and manufacture of Monoclonal Antibodies and Antibody Drug Conjugates at the LBA Syracuse Site to achieve compliance with applicable local/federal regulations and result in an environmentally safe workplace, including the reviews of capital renovations and new construction projects. This position must comply with all Security guidelines, Environmental Health and Safety regulations and the current Good Manufacturing Practices required by the job function.
- Provides technical and regulatory guidance on Industrial Hygiene issues associated with the manufacture of monoclonal antibodies (mAb) and antibody drug conjugates (ADC) focusing on the recognition, evaluation, and control of physical and chemical hazards.
- Manage all Biological safety and Industrial Hygiene programs associated with the facility.
- Implements EHS self-assessment programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable local, state & federal regulations.
- Review capital renovations and new construction projects to ensure environmental, Industrial Hygiene and Safety issues are addressed.
- Serve as the LBA liaison with regulatory agencies during site audits and inspections and as Site contact for EHS community outreach activities and the Community Awareness.
- Manage EHS programs associated with mAb and ADC manufacturing and development areas which include the following duties:
- Deliver environmental, Industrial Hygiene, safety, and emergency response team training programs.
- Conduct exposure assessment and IH monitoring as appropriate (e.g., dust monitoring, noise monitoring, chemical monitoring), performs the equipment calibrations as required, and sends samples to external laboratory.
- Maintains employee exposure record, notify the employee, reports monitoring results, and recommends exposure control measures to management.
- Review Hazard Communication program including annual SDS update and inventory of chemical substances to ensure compliance.
- Maintain statistical data, develops reports, and files official reports with regulatory agencies.
- Represent the site on EHS issues through participation in Professionals Industry Association.
- Participate in process hazard reviews of new and existing equipment to ensure Industrial Hygiene issues are addressed.
- Provides guidance for the proper selection of personal protective equipment.
- Administer the incident investigations program to determine root cause and develop action plan to avoid recurrence and follows-up to ensure improvements are made.
- Participate on ADC area when required and actively participates in various EHS Committees including site Institutional biosafety committee (IBC) and participate in Biological Assessment of Risk (BAR) process..
- Keeps abreast of current technologies and regulatory trends.
- Aid in administration of the departmental budget to assure controlled expenses within established goal and supports department director in administrative areas such as budget, capital appropriation, change control and company representation.
- Cover EHS evening and weekend response approximately ten weeks per year (may include holidays).
- Perform other related duties, as required.

Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in science (Environment, Health and Safety, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, or related field)
- 3+ years of experience leading various EHS areas such as Environmental, Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene in the pharmaceutical, biologics manufacturing and/or chemical manufacturing industry.
- Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) Preferred but can work with candidate to obtain certificate within 6 months of employment.
- Member of professional organization preferred (AIHA, ASSP or similar)
Specific Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, etc:
- Fully cognizant of applicable Federal and Commonwealth rules and regulations
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to work under pressure of time and capable of working with minimal direct supervision.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:
Potential exposure to all hazardous conditions is anticipated since considerable amount of time is spent in site operations. Must be physically able to wear a Respirator for extended periods.
