Family Child Care Health and Safety Monitor

SCO has provided vital human services throughout New York City and Long Island for more than 100 years and serves over 60,000 people on an annual basis.
It is the Network’s responsibility to ensure the facilities of their affiliated providers are secure and foster a safe learning environment for children and staff. The Health and Safety Monitor must support affiliated providers in their compliance with the licensing and registration requirements of OCFS.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Supervise a caseload of approximately 30 FCC Provider homes
· Conduct comprehensive review of Provider homes at least once per month by completing the DECE monitoring checklist.
· Review provider files to support the maintenance essential documents following documents at the program.
· Follow-up on incidents or concerns as needed using the DECE Feedback Action Plan.
· Review enrolled child files in the GFDC/FDC program to support the maintenance essential documents following documents at the program.
· Complete incident reports related to closures, facility and maintenance, DOHMH violations, safety and security, inadequate instructional materials, instructional quality & program management, religious instruction, allegations of discrimination in enrollment, enrollment & attendance, finance & administration, program ratios, abuse, supervision etc.
· Review of Provider Staff records to certifying that they have met the health requirements as required by OCFS
· Review of provider’s child health record to ensure they are in compliance with all child health requirements of OCFS, the DOE Office of School Health, and the DECE.
· Support professional development
· Offer ongoing supportive interaction
· Communicate with parents to ensure satisfaction with services
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
· A minimum of an Associates Degree or a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential with training
in nutrition, health, and Safety.
· Some supervisory experienced required
