The Consumer Insights and Marketing Intelligence team (CIMI) is tasked with enabling change through acting as a strategic partner to the Brands, representing the voice of the consumer and delivering actionable insights to the Brands who have the ultimate accountability of applying these insights to marketing and business strategies.
The Manager, Consumer Insights & Marketing Intelligence will play an essential role in driving the success of Shiseido Americas by bringing a richer and deeper understanding of consumer needs to reinforce customer-centric business strategies. This role will support consumer research initiatives and data-driven customer analyses to deliver actionable insights.
Types of research conducted include both qualitative and quantitative methodologies as well as the use of syndicated data sources.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Support the development of the brand's CIMI roadmap and learning agenda to drive brand growth and achieve key objectives
- Support conducting in-house quantitative research projects end-to-end including programming, audience quotas and targeting, fielding and managing deadlines. Synthesize results and visualize data that tells a clear, cohesive story for Brand teams to drive actionable insights
- Develop deep proficiency with our in-house analytics tools (both syndicated and internal) to support in consumer analyses to answer key strategic business questions
- Manage branded insights communities as a resource to derive meaningful insights from brand's consumers and maintain consistent engagement with members. Continue to identify opportunities to test and build on Consumer Insights among engaged beauty audiences
- Compile and distribute key CIMI monthly and quarterly reports
- Inspire new thinking by staying up-to-date on beauty and consumer trends and market intelligence
- Advocate for a best-in-class Consumer Insights function that creates deep consumer relationships and global beauty brands
Qualifications & Competencies:
- 5+ years of experience in Consumer Insights role including experience in syndicated data analysis and quantitative and qualitative research
- Experience in vendor and project management with an emphasis on agile DIY methodologies
- Strategic-thinker and problem-solver with strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize data into clear, actionable insights and recommendations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Detail oriented and highly organized with strong project management capabilities
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills required
- Proactive with a self-starter mentality, strong team player and collaborative nature
- Strong curiosity and eagerness to learn, demonstrates a growth-mindset
- Agility to adapt with shifting priorities and comfortable with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
- Preferred background in a related field of study such as Marketing, Statistics, Business, Psychology; experience or interest in Retail, Fashion, Luxury, Beauty
