JOB SUMMARY:
This position reports directly to and works closely with the Investigations manager within the Office of Inspector General (OIG), Internal Investigations Section (IIS). The job responsibilities include:
- Conducting initial intake reviews of complaints reported to the OIG to determine the most appropriate course of action, in consultation with the Investigations Manager. This entails analyzing complaint information, conducting interviews and additional research, and drafting summary memorandums of completed intake reviews.
- Assisting OIG investigators in researching, collecting, and organizing various data and evidence, and providing investigators with detailed, organized, and accurate conclusions.
- Assisting the IIS Accreditation Manager in maintaining compliance with Standards set forth by the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation, reviewing and updating IIS policies and procedures, and preparing for periodic re-accreditation assessments.
- Serving as the primary backup to the OIG Staff Assistant for entering of complaints of misconduct and engagement information into the IIS case management system, answering the OIG main phone, and greeting visitors to the OIG suite.
- Performing other duties and special projects as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- One year of experience working in an investigative process or conducting fact-finding research
- Experience in data or information analysis, research, and organization
- Experience interviewing individuals to obtain preliminary information
- Experience writing correspondence, reports, and interview summaries
- Experience reviewing and researching procedures, rules, or laws
- Experience entering information received from complainants, consumers, customers or employees into a case management system or database
- Experience working with computer-based office applications (Microsoft Office suite, Adobe, etc.)
SUBSTITUTIONS:
- Post-secondary education from an accredited college or university may substitute for relevant work experience.
PREFERENCES:
- Preference will be given to applicants based on amounts of applicable or transferable work experience.

- This position is not eligible for full-time or part-time telework/remote work.

SALARY: $41,000.04 - $46,650.00
