Maintenance/Construction Technician III

This position is classified as a Maintenance/Construction Technician III. This position is located at the Mt. View Sewing plant in Spruce Pine NC. This position reports directly to the Correction Enterprises Manager II. This includes the maintenance, repair, and installation of equipment in a timely manner. Mt. View Sewing is production-based operation and must therefore meet production schedules. In this respect Mt. View Sewing operates much like any business and must do what is necessary to satisfy those needs.
Essential job functions include but are not limited to: Training unskilled offenders to maintain the operation of various types of sewing equipment. Organize the upkeep of preventative maintenance for all plant machinery. Maintain accurate tool inventory. Order parts and supplies. Conduct visual surveillance of plant operations to ensure custody and security of offenders and facility. Other duties as directed by management
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits.
The work schedule is Monday - Thursday, 6:00 am - 4:30 pm.

High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two (2) years of progressive experience in the assigned trade areas; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
