Maintenance Worker

League School for Autism is an award-winning, year-round program dedicated to the education of children on the Autism Spectrum. Our multidisciplinary team approach to education creates a collaborative, supportive and open environment within our community. We are currently seeking a full-time MAINTENANCE WORKER for our campus in Walpole to start immediately. Campus includes one school building, two residential buildings, landscaped grounds and parking lots, with planned expansion by 2025. Schedule will be Monday – Friday, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, 40 hours per week. Occasional weekends/evenings may be required. Hourly rate is $21.50 per hour.

Position Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience in building/grounds maintenance and general repairs preferred but not required.
• Valid Driver’s License
• Must pass CORI background check.

Supervision Received: Director of Facilities

Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude the following:

1. Primary responsibility for the care, repair, and maintenance of the School building.
2. Maintains offices, restrooms and floors on a supplementary basis, including emptying trash, vacuuming, washing and sweeping floors.
3. Cleans snow and debris from sidewalk/school vehicles as needed.
4. Supplements lawn care duties, such as mowing, trimming shrubbery and cultivating flower beds.
5. Completes minor and routine painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, carpentry and other related maintenance activities; may involve using hand tools.
6. Notifies management concerning the need for major repairs.
7. Reports and repairs emergency maintenance problems or environmental hazards immediately.
8. Maintains tools and equipment in a clean, orderly and safe manner.
9. Complies with company policies and procedures, paying special attention to safety regulations.
10. Performs other related duties as assigned by the Director of Facilities for school building and residences.

Physical Demands:

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
