Rate of Pay: $17.50 per hour
Position Purpose:
Assists with a variety of skilled general maintenance-related activities, and may perform janitorial and custodial duties as needed. This is a temporary seasonal position not to exceed 122 days that will be scheduled full-time hours.
Schedule: Monday-Thursday 7 am to 3:30 pm; Friday 6:00 am to 2:30 pm.

Essential Functions:
- Assist in skilled general maintenance and repair activities to fairgrounds buildings and facilities.
- Provide assistance to plumbers with needed repairs when assigned.
- Loads and unloads supplies throughout the facilities
- May assist in other general maintenance duties including carpentry and painting.
- Assist electricians with a variety of electrical repairs, installations and upgrades if needed.
- Assist in other general maintenance duties including carpentry and painting.
- Participate in janitorial and custodial duties including cleaning buildings and facilities, cleaning and restocking restrooms, and emptying trash.

Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Possess a valid California driver’s license to operate a utility cart and other equipment.
- Previous general, skilled maintenance and repair experience.
- Ability to safely operate a variety of hand and power tools necessary.
- Ability to learn to operate a forklift using proper safety standards.
- Good customer service skills and the ability to work well with others.
- Ability to work outside the normal business day/week as demanded by events and programs.
- Must be available to work 5 days per week, on any shift (days, swing, graveyard) between mid-July and mid-August.
Preferences:
- Experience in safely operating heavy equipment such as forklift, manlift, scissors lift, Bobcat (skid steer tractor) and/or skip loader highly preferred.
- Previous janitorial or custodial experience preferred.
- Familiarity with the layout and facilities of the OC Fair & Event Center.
