Maintenance Worker - Three years plus year of experience
The Jackson Housing Commission is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Maintenance Worker. The Commission manages 545 units of Public Housing and 475 Housing Choice Vouchers. The Maintenance Workerwill prepare vacated units for new tenants, complete routine work orders, grounds upkeep and snow removal. Additionally, after probationary training period, the Maintenance Worker will be placed in an on-call rotation and respond to calls after hours. JHC operates on a team concept and worksite assignment may shift between our three sites all within a 3 mile radius.
A high school diploma or general equivalent is required - three years prior work experience will be considered in lieu of educational. Required - experience in general maintenance, patching, painting, minor electrical/plumbing and excellent customer service skills additional experience as a Maintenance Worker, maintenance technician, building maintenance is also a plus. Construction background from maintenance industry may also be considered. Must also possess basic computer skills, a valid Michigan Driver’s License and have reliable transportation.
