General Maintenance Worker

General Maintenance Worker Role Description:

The job duties of the General Maintenance Worker include building and grounds maintenance and is responsible for contributing towards a clean and safe working environment.

General Maintenance Worker Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Additional job duties may be assigned.

• General cleaning of the buildings and keeping it maintained and in good condition.
• Operate floor scrubber and mop as needed
• Clean up spills with appropriate equipment.
• Perform minor repairs or notify supervisor of major repairs needed
• Collect and dispose of trash as needed
• Keep cleaning/sanitation supplies in stock.
• Conducting routine inspections of premises and equipment.
• Performing preventative maintenance on buildings
• Handling basic repairs and maintenance of facility issues
• Repairing structures as necessary
• Perform odd jobs as assigned for the maintenance department.
• Operate hilo and scissor lift as needed
• Complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision.

Noise Level

The noise level in the working environment will be heavy with high traffic. Ear protection will be required.

Experience:

• One or more years of experience in the industry
• Hilo Certification
• Hands on experience

• Experience with basic computer systems.

• Speak effectively with fellow employees.
• Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, etc.

• Apply mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, as well as basic algebra.
