Maintenance Worker

Peninsula Powder Coating seeks a full-time Maintenance Workerto join their team in Baraga, Michigan.

The ideal person for this position is someone experienced with general carpentry, welding, electrical and mechanical maintenance, and able to maintain equipment, buildings and grounds.

WHAT YOU WILL DO.

• Inspect, repair and maintain facilities including painting, plumbing, electrical repair (replace outlets, ballasts, fans, etc.), heating and cooling systems, grass cutting and trimming, snow removal, and minor construction jobs (cement work, general carpentry, general welding, etc.).
• Maintain inventory of repair supplies and materials.
• Perform maintenance and preventive maintenance duties as scheduled.
• Maintain effective and professional communication with staff.

WHAT WE OFFER.

• $16.00 – $20.00 per hour starting pay based on your experience.

SCHEDULE. This is full-time, Monday-Friday position generally working 7am - 3:30pm. Some schedule flexibility required for emergency situations.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR.

• Preference given to candidates with at least 3 years' maintenance work experience including general carpentry, general welding, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and painting required; HVAC a bonus.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Must have own tools (hammers, wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.).
• Someone who operates with a sense of urgency and discipline and can organize and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Someone motivated to take action, use safe work practices, and are resourceful in solving problems.
• Position requires an ability to perform physical work with lifting and/or carrying up to 50 pounds; climbing ladders of modest height; dusty, dirty and confined spaces; and outdoor weather conditions (hot, cold, windy, rainy, humid, snowy, etc.).
