Architectural Design Illustrator / Visual Artist

Due to organic growth and stellar reputation in the industry, GPD is excited to add a new Architectural Design Illustrator/ Visual Artist, to our team of creative professionals at our Columbus, Ohio office location. This person would be immersed in a variety of project types (retail, education, healthcare, etc.) related to interior and exterior environments using their strong computer modeling skills to help communicate concept solutions to our clients. This individual would be joining a small but mighty design team that creatively supports architectural projects and looking to grow the team and evolve our visualization team capabilities.
The ideal candidate will possess:
  1. Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Computer Illustration, Game Design/Art/ Graphic Design or related field.
  2. Strong creative background in computer modeling and design.
  3. Experience using current computer modeling and animation software, related to built environments.
  4. Demonstrated exceptional computer modeling, spatial design and rendering techniques through a strong portfolio of experience.
Core Abilities:
  1. Expertise in 3D Modeling, illustration, and animation using Revit, Sketchup, or similar software.
  2. Strong artistic capabilities with texturing, lighting and rendering techniques.
  3. Solid working knowledge of design programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator or InDesign.
  4. An understanding of architecture and engineering, with the ability to understand construction documents in CAD, Revit or similar software.
  5. Familiarity with rendering add-ons such as VRay or other lighting software.
  6. Knowledge of Photo Compositing and Presentation Methods
  7. Good communication, organization and follow up skills.
  8. Ability to multi-task, work on several projects at one time and coordinate with design and architecture teams.
  9. Initiative to work with minimal supervision, maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information.
Differentiated Experience, a plus:
  1. Art, hand rendering and graphic design.
  2. 3D Interactive Programming, using Adobe Premiere or Adobe After Effects.
  3. Site, topography, and landscaping modeling.
  4. Virtual and Augmented Reality, including programming and modeling.
Responsibilities will include:
  1. The candidate will work as part of our exceptional visualization team of designers to provide architectural, interior designers, site teams and other practices support in the creation of animations, renderings and illustrations.
  2. Confidence to learn new programs and illustrations methods, interest in staying current with the latest technology.
  3. Development of virtual reality experiences and other innovative methods for design visualization.
  4. Building, texturing, and lighting 3D scenes for rendered stills and animation.
  5. Using Photoshop for compositing renderings and color corrections.
  6. Creating presentation graphics for meetings and client review.
  7. Assisting in the creation of marketing materials and presentations.
