Maintenance Technician Supervisor

The Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor will oversee the performance and maintenance & repair of production machinery in our manufacturing plant and report to the Maintenance Manager. This includes equipment maintenance and continuous improvement of processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Hands-on maintenance work - testing and troubleshooting systems and equipment; restoring, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing faulty or inoperative components and parts.
- Supervising maintenance mechanics - accomplish objectives by selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising job contributions; recommending compensation actions; adhering to policies and procedures.
- Maintain the functionality and reliability of facility systems and equipment by implementing and maintaining a preventive/predictive maintenance program
- Plan and successfully execute capital projects. Improve function and reliability of facility systems and equipment by studying performance results, identifying, recommending, and implementing changes, expansions and additions.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- Employee must carry/lift to 10 –55 lbs.
- Frequent bending at waist/knees
- Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs, balance; stoop, kneel or crouch; talk and hear.
- 75% of time is spent on the production floor where the use of personal protective equipment is required and there is exposure to temperature extremes, dust, and machinery.
- 25% of time is spent in an office environment. Must be able to use a computer (graphs, spreadsheets, databases and general office equipment.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to analyze machine downtime, maintenance and productivity data and incorporate this data into maintenance planning to increase efficiency and lower manufacturing costs.
- Reasoning Ability: Strong logic and reasoning skills required.
- Highly flexible; able to work on multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Must be able to handle confidential information with complete confidence of management.
- Outstanding leadership skills are a must. Candidates must be able to identify and prioritize goals and determine well-thought-out and detailed deployment plans to achieve these goals successfully and on time.
- Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with legal codes and regulations.
- Proven ability in managing and controlling cost as well as achieving KPI’s.
- Intermediate or greater skill in Spanish is a plus.
