- The Maintenance Supervisor has the authority and primary responsibility for assuring effective management and supervision of assigned process mechanical areas, making certain activities conform to management’s objectives and department policies.
- Hires and terminates assigned process maintenance union hourly personnel with concurrence of the Maintenance Manager and VP-Operations.
- Plans and schedules activities to best utilize skills, labor, materials, machines and tooling to obtain the most favorable outcome of time, expense, quality and workmanship.
- Assures that all products are produced and distributed under food safety and quality guidelines of the FDA and our customers. Constantly monitors and measure in coordination with the Food Safety Team, the organization’s performance in food quality and food safety to meet our corporate goal of being World Class and World Competitive.
- Supports the organization’s commitment to ensure that our food safety and quality plans conform to all regulatory requirements with food quality and safety requirements and report any problems or potential problems observed concerning food safety and quality to Supervision immediately.
- Receives requests from internal customers and provides feedback to VP-Operations, internal customers and computer maintenance management system.
- Assures employees assigned are properly trained in maintenance/mechanical activities/technique and how to safely perform their jobs. Counsels employees to improve their performance.
- Assures all process equipment is operational and receives repairs or periodic maintenance as required.
- Handles initial grievances. Forward to appropriate personnel if grievance is reduced to writing and/or cannot be settled at the initial step.
- Provides dynamic investigation, leadership, direction and resources to resolve process problems in cooperation with manufacturing supervision.
- Improves efficiencies and reduces down time due to improved PM and additional education between process engineering and manufacturing supervision (process maintenance).
- Improves working relationship between internal customers and support services built on trust and reliability.
- Improves project results, assuring projects work as planned, are completed on schedule and within budget.
- Reduces maintenance expenses without sacrificing operational results or increased down time.
- Supervises assigned union hourly process maintenance personnel, providing direction and assistance as necessary to assure efficient fulfillment of responsibilities.
