The Maintenance Specialist provides business and strategic oversight for the facilities, special projects, and building/laboratory support systems. The Maintenance Specialist oversees and directs personnel assigned to that department. The Maintenance Specialist will also direct and be responsible for vendors, and contractors assigned to the systems and projects he is currently managing. Additionally, the Maintenance Specialist supports other departments with technical advice, recommendations, and solutions with projects, procedures and other issues that may arise. The Specialist directly reports to the MMO Manager and may present information directly to corporate team members on any issues, projects or duties that they may deem necessary.
Required Education and experience:
- 1+ years technical/mechanical certification
- Diploma or schooling in maintenance/electrical OR A.A./ A.S.
- OR
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred:
- 5+ years applicable maintenance experience/training.
This role will be tasked with the following:
Maintenance and renovation of:
- reverse osmosis and de-ionization water systems
- facility steam systems
- electrical and emergency electrical system
- water supply and distribution systems
- facility HVAC/ climate control system
- Other systems and support as needed
Special Projects
- Monitor, plan and direct projects as assigned.
- Monitor, and direct contractors, vendors and assigned employees as needed.
- Design, plan and collaborate with other departments, and contractors on projects.
Supervisor
- Mentor, direct, and evaluate employees and their tasks.
- Provide support for company initiatives
- Assist in cost analysis and cost controls
- Interact with QA and other quality departments
Physical requirements:
- Must be able to climb, kneel, stand, balance, crouch, stoop, reach, push, grasp, vision-correctible (with visual acuity-e.g. color, depth perception and field of vision), walk, lift, have tactile sense, hear, communicate and be able to perform repetitive motions.
- Must be able to exert up to 100 lbs of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs of force constantly to move objects.
