General James M. Gavin Power Plant is a 2,600-megawatt supercritical coal-fired power station in the village of Cheshire, Ohio, United States. It is owned by Lightstone Generation LLC, a 50-50 joint venture of The Blackstone Group L.P. and ArcLight Capital Partners.
The Maintenance Planner obtains material and plans the work, provides job hour estimates and any supporting craft that may be needed to complete the job. Assist in the development of long- and short-range plans for maintenance, capital improvement availability and safety. Assist with developing work scope for contractor bids and contracts, requesting contractor quotes, tracking budgets, and working with accounting on actual cost of jobs as needed.
Assist workers and supervision in the performance of assigned tasks using the work management system(s) and in the development of detailed work plans for project, outage, and maintenance work. Perform with proper guidance planning functions required to participate in outage / projects and other assignments in a safe, healthy, efficient, and economical manner. Can analyze and recommend enhancements to department processes.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities
- Assist in developing plans to improve operating and maintenance outage efficiency. Knowing the status of any outstanding material needed for the job and or doing research to acquire the proper parts for the job.
- Coordinate the development of input necessary to establish projected cost and duration. Assists with providing input to annual budget and monthly forecasts.
- Plan all work activities in accordance with the policies, practices, standards, and rules of the company.
- Coordinate plans with pertinent personnel to identify needed estimates. Participates in company meetings covering outage / project schedule, safety issues and operations and maintenance of equipment.
- Review work orders for accuracy and histories.
- Prepares and assists with analysis of reports using the work management system (s) & Asset Suite reports.
- Understands the use of scheduling techniques for planning and scheduling activities inPasta.
- Available for on-call, step-up supervisor and overtime as needed.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate Degree in a technical related field or 2 years of maintenance related experience.
- 4 years of work related experience in outage / project planning, outage coordinator / project field work activities and / or plant operations; or equivalent education / work experience.
- Must have the ability to read and understand technical documentation, write technical reports in a clear and concise manner, communicate both in writing and verbally with craft and management personnel, possesses organizational skills necessary to maintain files and documentation related to the position, and work in a team environment.
