In our Greencastle location, we are responsible for packing and shipping eggs to stores all over the United States. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for installation, troubleshooting maintenance repairs, and scheduled preventative maintenance of loading and packing machines as well as the plant facility.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Install and setup machines and equipment
- Knowledge in photocells, proximity switches,relay systems, power controls, and electrical systems a must
- Knowledge in Waste Water Management a plus
- Establish and perform preventative maintenance on machinery, equipment and facilities
- Routine inspections of machinery and equipment to determine adjustments and repairs needed
- Troubleshoot and repair down processing and building equipment
- Support processing with changeover and product setup/startup
- Ensure constant adherence with all company, state, and OSHA safety policies and procedures
- Maintain proper housekeeping and organization of all work areas
- Ensure strict adherence with SQF (Safe Quality Food) code and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) guidelines and standards
- Ability to learn egg grading system
- Maintain facility to state and OSHA standards
- Immediately report all incidents or potential noncompliance regarding quality assurance or food safety to the Quality Assurance Manager or appropriate department supervisor/manager
REQUIREMENTS:
Education and Experience:
· High school diploma or GED
· 5-7 years previous machine/mechanical experience required
· Vocational or technical school preferred
· Industrial equipment background preferred
· Knowledge and experience with pneumatic systems required
· Basic understanding of electricity and electrical wiring
· Ability to troubleshoot AC and DC electrical components
· Understanding of Safety Data Sheets or proper chemical handling
· Ability to obtain fork truck certification
· Experience handling power tools
· Experience troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing electro-mechanical equipment
· Blueprint, sketch layout, wiring diagram, drawing, and other specification interpretation skills
· Basic Microsoft/Word/ Excel knowledge
· Knowledge of FGQ and GMPs preferred
· Knowledge in photocells, proximity switches,relay systems, power controls, and electrical systems a must
