PrideNow is actively recruiting skilled Maintenance Mechanics (Machine Repair) for a direct hire opportunity with our HVAC manufacturing client in Trenton, NJ.
Pay: $29.25
Shifts:
- 2nd shift: Mon–Fri, 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM
- 3rd shift: Sun–Thurs, 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM
BRIEF DESCRIPTION AND REQUIREMENTS
We are seeking candidates with Journeyman’s papers or an equivalent degree/certification and a minimum of 3 years of experience or 10 years performing complex mechanical work in industrial maintenance. Successful candidates must demonstrate proficiency in performing complex mechanical work in industrial maintenance.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of duties according to specific department guidelines.
- Ensure the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines.
- Troubleshoot malfunctions using diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications.
- Possess proficiency in mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems repair.
- Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems, and using precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Remove defective parts by dismantling devices, using hoists, hand and power tools, and examining the form and texture of parts.
- Determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
- Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
- Fabricate repair parts using machine shop instrumentation and equipment such as a vertical milling machine, drill press, lathe, and welding.
- Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock levels, anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies, placing and expediting orders, and verifying receipt.
- Conserve maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
- Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications, and establishing personal networks.
- Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Read blueprints, layout, install, and maintain various equipment.
- Effectively communicate problems and solutions to resolve mechanical issues.
- Participate in the on-the-job training of line mechanics and apprentices as needed.
- Use a computerized maintenance system to retrieve and enter information.
- Observe safe work practices and ensure work does not endanger others.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Must have no serious medical conditions that would inhibit the performance of duties.
- Medical examination to include X-ray.
