As a Maintenance Manager, you will be vital to our production line, overseeing all installation, repair and upkeep operations of our Waterbury propane tank refurbishment facility. Reporting to the production manager you will work with the maintenance staff to ensure safe and reliable operation of the production line and facility operations.
Key responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to:
• Through observation of equipment during the day, you will be leading the maintenance team, overseeing maintenance, supply management, cleaning and special projects with regard to our production line and facilities.
• Help develop maintenance procedures and ensure implementation
• Plan and oversee all repair and installation activities
• Carry out inspections of the facility to identify and resolve issues
• Allocate workload and supervise upkeep staff (maintenance techs, custodians, janitors etc.)
• Monitor equipment inventory and place orders when necessary
• Monitor expenses and control the budget for maintenance
• Manage relationships with contractors and service providers
• Keep maintenance logs and report on daily activities
• Ensure health and safety policies are complied with
• Coach, counsel and discipline employees
• Maintain staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training staff
• Other duties as assigned by Senior Manager.
Desired skills and experience:
• Proven experience as Maintenance Manager or supervisor ( similar manager role)
• Experience in planning maintenance operations
• Solid understanding of technical aspects of plumbing, carpentry, electrical systems etc.
• Working knowledge of facilities machines and equipment
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent or Vocational Technical Certificate training in at least one of the following: Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 pounds at times throughout the day as well as bend, climb, reach, stoop & twist.
• Detailed work ethic, be enthusiastic, committed, proactive and resourceful; effectively gets the job done.
• Ability to communicate effectively in a positive and thoughtful manner with customers and co-workers.
