POSITION SUMMARY:
This individual manages maintenance and engineering projects supporting the most efficient and safe chemical processing and production at the Florence, KY manufacturing facility. The incumbent will provide maintenance and engineering expertise and hands-on management practices to ensure consistent, best practice and best cost production facilities for the manufacturing products. This position will also actively participate in Manufacturing Excellence initiatives including assessment audits and corrective action plans. Must have strong engineering, problem solving and fabrication skills. This individual manages the maintenance staff as well as the facilities to ensure the entire property is kept to proper standards. This individual will also manage special projects as assigned by Plant Manager.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the continuous improvement programs in manufacturing operations. This is accomplished through the use of assessment tools, identification of best practices and implementation of improvement plans. This also includes the implementation of capital expenditure plans
- Manage through production down equipment issues with speed to ensure the least amount of production down time.
- Ensure engineering needs of plant facility and production are met and that continual improvement in efficiencies and safety are developed.
- Manage maintenance staff and the needs of the Florence, KY manufacturing facility as well as the GXO side facilities issues.
- Manage the service vendors of the Florence, KY Facility (for both Diversey and GXO).
- Manage projects for the Plant Manager as well as Global Management within Diversey.
- Responsible for writing, quoting, presenting capital projects to Diversey leadership with the Plant Manager.
- Responsible for managing, improving Maintenance CMMS (Manager Plus)
- Responsible for supporting installation, ramp up and training plans for new facility, team, operations team
- Responsible for establishing, formulating SOPs for Maintenance team members
- Responsible for supporting a Safety First Culture, helping to expand upon it
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum Education Required: BS/BA with core competency in engineering or similar area. Masters degree preferred.
- Minimum Experience required: 2+ years of management experience preferably in a related industry. In addition, 7+ years of manufacturing experience in Maintenance or Engineering.
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift and stack various weights up to 55 pounds repeatedly. Heavier lifting with lift assists is possible. Ability to stand for periods of up to 4 hours at a time. Ability to perform repetitive bending and stretching on a daily basis. Must be able to do physical work as it relates to the Maintenance/engineering needs of the production facility. Also works in an office environment and be able to sit for long periods of time.
- Ability to travel every week for the first 3-4 months of employment
