GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Maintenance Manager supervises activities of the Value Added facility's maintenance functions and personnel. This role is responsible for maintaining the general condition and working order of the facility and ensuring minimal downtime due to maintenance issues.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION:
- Leads maintenance department and supervises salaried maintenance supervisors and hourly maintenance staff.
- Responsible for ensuring all operating equipment is functioning as designed and performing in a cost-effective manner while maintaining industry best safety standards and quality at all times.
- Manages a multi-million-dollar budget and inventory that will ensure zero down time due to spare parts availability.
- Sets staff departmental expectations to include accountability for all phases of maintenance functions. Delivers results and works cross-functionally to further the best interest of overall plant operations.
- Responsible for keeping building and grounds maintenance in proper condition and compliance.
- Supports the Engineering Department with project management by assisting with planning facility projects and improvements.
- Follows all food safety requirements and GMP's as applicable for this position.
- Ensures the integrity and continued operations of the food safety system in the event of organizational or personnel changes within the company or associated facilities.
- Support special projects and other duties as assigned.
