Job Description
- Directs the activities of the Maintenance Department.
- Communicates job assignments to employees and monitors their performance.
- Develop and execute maintenance strategies that drive equipment uptime.
- Evaluate equipment reliability and take appropriate actions to improve performance.
- Establish and execute a Preventive Maintenance Program for all production equipment.
- Conducts inspection of the facility and equipment to identify and resolve issues.
- Actively engage with the maintenance team in servicing, troubleshooting, repairing, and installing a wide variety of manufacturing equipment.
- Plans and oversees the installation of new equipment.
- Coordinates and oversees work conducted by outside contractors and service providers.
- Monitors expenditures and controls budget for the department.
- Maintains appropriate logs and records as needed to properly track and maintain equipment status.
- Identify equipment safety concerns and initiate corrective action.
- Works within the guidelines of the quality program, including drawings and procedures.
- Insures good housekeeping in work area.
- Reports problems or accidents to management immediately.
- Gives proper consideration to safety on each job and abides by all company safety rules, policies, and procedures.
- Performs related work as required.
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Ability to work with and supervise employees. Able to read, write, add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Able to work from drawings, specifications, and formulas involving limited detail, use micrometers, calipers, and scales. Requires knowledge of electric, hydraulic, and mechanical trouble-shooting and repair.
- Education: High school or GED.
- Experience: Five to seven years maintenance supervisory or related experience.
