Position Description
Pregis is seeking a talented Facilities and Maintenance Manager to innovate controls systems to support and enhance the various product lines. The Facilities and Maintenance Manager will also oversee the plant maintenance department by leading technicians, training personnel, administering Maintenance CMMS, maintaining a competent spares inventory, leading/managing projects, troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and modifying mechanical, pneumatic and electrical equipment; Including PLC, DCS and multiple systems.
Job Tasks and Responsibilities
Leadership

• Set the tone for the team’s culture with emphasis on Safety, Quality, Profitability, and people development. Model the right behavior through actions.
• Combine your talents with the efforts of the entire leadership team to help create and grow our integrity and innovation-driven culture and ensure a safe, informed and engaged workforce.
• Attract, retain, develop, and mentor key talent within the plant.
• Work directly with plant leadership and operations personnel to quickly address breakdowns, repairs, schedule PM’s, etc.
• Manage plant projects, capital projects, and project budgets.
• Communicate effectively with plant management, engineering, and operations about maintenance and capital project requirements
• Grow, sustain, and own competent and complete maintenance spares inventory.
• Develop maintenance procedures and ensure implementation.
• Create continuous improvement culture through the development and implementation of process improvements and impactful metrics

Safety and Quality

• Keep Safety in the forefront of the team’s thinking and approach to work.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and well-organized department.
• Ensure that the maintenance team follows LOTO and other safety rules without exception.
• Ensure the timely and correct execution of PM and CM work from CMMS system.
• Achieve low levels of unplanned machine downtime.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable design and safety standards
• Design and development of Electrical Control Systems, including power management for domestic and international applications, integrations, and automation
• System integration of various packaging and networking controls systems with IoT and peripheral systems
• Programming to support legacy equipment and new designs – PLC, HMI, PCB, VFD, Servo, PID
• Manage PCB development, production, programming and testing with external and internal partners
• Drive technical advancements in conceptualization, layout, design, prototyping, in-house testing, field-qualification, and documentation
• Support supply chain for component and sub-system obsolescence and technology upgrades
• Support manufacturing relating to customer orders, inventory, parts, and documentation

Financial Management

• Oversee maintenance spend and adhere to budget.

Required Education and Experience and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field or extensive years of service in manufacturing setting
• 10+ years in of relevant industrial controls experience demonstrating a history of creating innovative solutions to technical challenges
• 10+ years in Product Development environment
• Experience in packaging is preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams
• Proficiency with PLC software products (e.g., RS Logix 500/5000, Studio) and/or other similar industrial controls software products
• Proficiency with SolidWorks or AutoCAD schematic electrical packages
• Demonstrated capability to manage PCB design and development
• Strong knowledge of CE, UL, NEC, NFPA79
• Ability to travel - domestic and international
• Servo motion design and programming experience
