Mold Maintenance and Builder Manager

As the Mold Maintenance and Builder Manager at Freeman Boatworks LLC, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and longevity of our molds, essential components in our boat manufacturing process. You will lead a team of skilled professionals in maintaining, repairing, and optimizing molds to support efficient and high-quality production. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to excellence in manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:

1. Mold Maintenance: Develop and implement a comprehensive Mold Maintenance program to ensure the ongoing performance and reliability of molds. Schedule and perform regular inspections, cleaning, lubrication, and preventive maintenance activities.
2. Mold Repair: Coordinate and oversee mold repair activities, including troubleshooting issues, diagnosing problems, and implementing effective solutions. Work closely with the maintenance team and external vendors to address issues promptly and minimize downtime.
3. Mold Optimization: Identify opportunities to improve mold performance, efficiency, and longevity. Implement upgrades, modifications, and enhancements to optimize mold operation and extend service life.
4. Mold Building: Oversee the construction of molds, ensuring accuracy, durability, and adherence to design standards. Coordinate with suppliers and contractors as needed.
5. Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of Mold Maintenance technicians and Builders. Provide guidance, training, and support to ensure the team's success and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
6. Inventory Management: Maintain an inventory of spare parts, materials, and supplies necessary for Mold Maintenance and repair activities. Monitor usage, reorder supplies as needed, and manage inventory levels to minimize disruptions.
7. Quality Assurance: Implement quality control processes to ensure that molds meet the highest standards for accuracy, finish, and consistency. Conduct inspections and evaluations to identify and address any issues or defects.
8. Process Optimization: Identify opportunities for streamlining and improving mold design and manufacturing processes. Implement best practices to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and increase productivity.
9. Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including engineering, production, and quality assurance, to coordinate mold design and manufacturing activities and ensure seamless integration with overall production processes.
10. Safety and Compliance: Uphold safety protocols and regulatory compliance standards in all mold design and manufacturing activities. Promote a culture of safety awareness and adherence to regulations among team members.

Requirements
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in Mold Maintenance and repair, preferably in the marine or manufacturing industry.
- Experience in mold design and building, preferably in the marine industry.
- Strong technical skills in Mold Maintenance techniques, including cleaning, lubrication, and troubleshooting.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to motivate and develop a team of skilled professionals.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards related to mold design and manufacturing.

- Experience with machining, welding, and fabrication techniques for mold repair.
