Position Summary:
The Maintenance Engineer/Security Support performs interior and exterior property maintenance and security functions. This is a full-time position as 50% Maintenance Engineer and 50% Security Support. The Maintenance position will include upkeep of building exterior and parking areas, cleaning and maintenance for interior of the building, agency vehicle and arranging rooms for larger meeting or conferences, if needed. The Security will require patrolling premises to detect suspicious activity, assist employees, and ensure the safety and well being of company property and its occupants.
Responsibilities:
Maintenance
- Perform general maintenance of interior of the building facility
- Move heavy furniture, equipment, supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance
- Paint or report roof, windows, floors, woodwork, plaster, drywall, or other parts of building structures as indicated
- Exterior property Maintenance
- Remove snow from sidewalks using snow shovels and spread snow melting chemicals
- Maintain building interior and exterior lighting by replacing bulbs or fixtures as indicated.
- Coordinate of maintenance with program managers to minimize disruption of service delivery
- Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
- Notify managers of any supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties
- Set up, arrange and remove decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, and scaffolding to prepare facilities for events such as banquets and meetings
- Spray insecticides and fumigates to prevent insect and rodent infestation
- Coordinate/Facilitate routine maintenance of company automobiles with dealerships or other parties identified for vehicle maintenance or repair
- Obtain estimates and submit for approval prior to completion
- Order parts, supplies, and equipment from catalogs and suppliers or obtain them from storerooms as indicated
- Obtain prior approval for supply and equipment orders
- Maintain documentation of routine maintenance, repairs needed and repairs completed
Security Support
- Ensure the security, safety and well-being of all personnel, visitors, and the premises
- Protecting company’s property and staff by maintaining a safe and secure environment
- Observing for signs of crime or disorder and investigate disturbances
- Patrol randomly or regularly the building and its perimeter
- Report any suspicious incidents immediately to the Maintenance and Custodial Manager
- Escorts staff to and from their vehicles as needed
- Check in with Front Desk periodically to address any concerns
- Participate in safety committee and assist Compliance Officer as needed
Perform other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:

This position normally requires the physical demands of standing, walking, bending, lifting or moving items, performing other work requiring low physical exertions, talking and hearing and adequate vision on a regular basis to perform job requirement. These physical demands are required 90% of the time.
Non-Physical Requirement:
Education
- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED), preferred but not required
Experience
- 2 years’ experience of building maintenance, construction and/or property management and maintenance duties
- 1 years’ experience in related field of security preferred
- Equivalent combination of education or experience sufficient to successfully perform essential duties

- Oral and written communication skills with peers, supervisors and public
- Must have strong commitment to the right and the ability of each person with a severe mental illness to live in the community
- Ability to be self-motivated, work independently and as a team member
- Ability to represent the agencies in a professional manner within the community
- Detailed oriented and able to multitask
- Able to demonstrate basic computer skills
- Ability to understand both verbal and written instructions
- Good communication and interpersonal skills

Licenses, Registration, or Certification
- Valid Washington State drivers license and required minimum liability insurance for WA State
Employment is conditional upon:
