Job Description
Saxman One is seeking a Mailroom Clerk to join our team. The Mailroom Clerk provides mail distribution and directory service at the Center for Information Warfare Training, Pensacola, Florida. A current SECRET security clearance is required for consideration.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Receive and sort certified, registered, and other accountable mail from the U.S. Postal Service, sign for it as required, obtain the required chain of custody signatures in accordance with all current regulations.
Receive, sign for, and sort mail received from United Parcel Service (UPS), Federal Express (FEDEX), and other commercial mail services. Identify and track mail and packages deemed to be priority in nature which may be sent via and express mail service.
Issue mail pick-up notification slips to customers.
Prepare all required forms, reports, and requests on discrepancies, damaged mail, and tracers.
Operate a customer service window from 0630-1600 Monday through Friday. Dispense mail to customers on a “walk-in” basis.
Provide check-in/check-out/address change/general services to customers.
Maintain approximately 2,400 customer mail receptacles, make combination changes, maintain operation can cleanliness of the boxes, maintain security, and safeguard combination cards and records.
Maintain current designation and authorization files, to include but not limited to, mail orderly designations, signature authorizations, and daily pick-up sheets, and screen personnel for authorization to pick-up mail.
Screen office outgoing mail to ensure it meets required standards. Return all outgoing mail which doesn’t meet required standards to the originator.
Provide a centralized locator service and mail directory service. Research returned mail and misaddressed mail and forward to the correct address.
The Mailroom Clerk provides mail delivery and receipt service for CIWT Corry Station and tenant activities and personnel. Mail received at 0830, 1030, and 1630 will be sorted, processed, and delivered to the addressee at 1000 and 1400, Monday through Friday. Research the unit locator file to determine addressee’s distribution symbol. All mail shall be properly distributed to the addressee the same day it is received while personal mail may be held in the mailroom overnight for next day delivery.
Job Requirements
Education and/or Experience
High School diploma or equivalent is required.
Qualifications and Requirements
Possess current or active Secret security clearance.
Ability to work under deadline pressure, handle stress and deliver professional results.
Long hours and weekends may be required to meet deliverables.
Strong written and oral communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
Self-motivated with minimal oversight.
Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
