Job Description
Under the direct supervision of the Supervisor/ Manager the mail associate is responsible for accurately sorting, posting and delivering mail. This position also entails providing a high level of customer service to employees seeking assistance from the mailroom team in person or via email and chat.
Responsibilities:
- Providing a high level of customer service to end users seeking assistance in person or via email, phone and chat.
- Receive and process all inbound & outbound, domestic and international mail and parcels which include FedEx, UPS, DHL, USPS, etc.
- Utilize PDAs and the Mail Management system to maintain all package & mail inventory.
- Deliver mail to designated mail rooms on each floor.
- Deliver packages to each person individually and maintain full chain of custody.
- On occasion, offload palleted packages, crates of equipment and/or merchandise from shipping companies.
- Order, stock and maintain copy/mailrooms with supplies (i.e., copy paper, general office supplies).
- Stock printer paper for all copiers and printers on campus.
- Complete other special deliveries on campus as required.
- Ensure safety and security procedures are followed at all times.
- Enter activity data in logs, maintain records.
- Maintain cleanliness of workspace throughout shift.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Driver's License required.
- Strong customer service skills
- Strong verbal and written communications skills.
- Minimum 1-2 years customer service and shipping/receiving related experience preferred.
- 1-3 years' experience with Microsoft Software.
- Forklift use experience and/or certification is preferred.
- Training to achieve forklift certification will be required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on a consistent basis.
- Postage Meter, UPS, FedEx, DHL and USPS knowledge.
- Ability to meet employer's attendance policy.
- Ability to effectively work individually and in a team environment.
- Average PC usage skills.
