Summary
The Michigan Alzheimer's Disease Center (MADC) is seeking a full time Imaging Research Assistant to join its research team. The MADC is dedicated to advancing Alzheimer's disease and related dementias research. Location is at the MADC in Ann Arbor where there is free staff parking. Hours are Monday - Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. There may be an opportunity for a hybrid work arrangement following a training period.
We are seeking a positive, highly motivated, organized, autonomous person with excellent multi-tasking ability to work with a dynamic research team as a MADC Imaging Research Assistant. Preference will be given to applicants committed to at least 1 year in this role. Responsibilities*
- Collaborate with study teams to ensure proper acquisition, storage, quality control, analysis, and visualization of neuroimaging data.
- Assist with programming scripts for data processing and analysis.
- Help manage imaging databases, ensuring data quality and adherence to timelines.
- Optimize data collection and analysis methods by collaborating with the research team and external partners.
- Conduct quality checks for MRI and PET data-related study documentation.
- Assist in administrative tasks and other scientific activities as needed.
Required Qualifications*
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- 1-2 years research experience, including investigator-initiated and federally sponsored trials.
- Minimum one year of experience
- In depth understanding of coding principles and the ability to seamlessly transition and excel across different technological environments.
- Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Confident and highly motivated, adept at multitasking and record keeping.
- Skilled in collaborative problem-solving within diverse teams.
Desired Qualifications*
- erience with processing and analysis platforms like FreeSurfer, Slicer, and SPM. Knowledgeable with programming scripts (e.g., Python, R, MATLAB) for data processing and analysis.
- Previous programming experience (ideally including shell scripting, Python, R, MATLAB, Swift, C, & Git).
- Understanding of REDCap for data storage and management.
- Familiarity with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and HIPAA regulations.
