Minimum Qualifications
- High school graduation or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Four years progressively responsible office experience, including direct experience in office coordination, i.e., prioritizing work assignments, maintaining work flow to meet deadlines.
- Ability to compose correspondence.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment.
- Ability to effectively interact with the public, students, faculty and staff.
- Knowledge of proper grammar, spelling and punctuation and ability to utilize proper standard office source manuals.
- Ability to work under pressure.
Desired Qualifications
Position Purpose
To provide specialized office assistance to support the research activity within the School of Medicine.
Job Duties
The Research Administrative Assistant will work closely with the research coordinator and the business and administration team to support faculty and students in their research endeavors, including but not limited to:
Assist with the review of financial transactions, including purchase requisitions, payment vouchers and travel expenses for compliance with university policies and budget authorization. Assist with interpretation and administration of university policies including purchasing, business expenditure, travel and human resources. Review service agreements and assist with resolving issues with vendors and/or campus as needed. Work with School of Medicine personnel to provide oversight in regards to financial integrity for all School of Medicine activities.
Assist with the initiation and review of personnel paperwork. Assist with the preparation, maintenance and processing of personnel actions/records. Assist and guide School of Medicine in the HR processes associated with hiring staff, part-time faculty, casual and student employees.
