As Machinist I, you will operate and set-up a variety of manual and CNC equipment. This is a 2nd Shift role working Monday-Thursday 2:15pm-12:15am.
Primary Responsibilities
- -Reviews shop prints or instructions to understand specifications of output
- -Complete set ups and operates manual and/or CNC equipment to set specified feeds, speeds and depth of cut
- -Plan a sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job
- -Performs precision machining operations on manual and CNC equipment to as required by the part configuration and/or specification
- -Determines and programs size of batches and speed of machine
- -Inspects outputs to ensure conformance and consistency with specifications
- -May assemble machined parts in machines and equipment, and tests operation of unit to ensure functionality and performance (site specific)
- -Ensures quality specifications are met through use of various precision measuring tools
- -Performs routine machine maintenance, lubricating, oiling, cleaning, and minor repairs/calibrations according to applicable company and manufacturer operating standards
- -May operate more than one machine during longer workpiece cycle time
What You Bring
- Knowledge of a number of machining concepts, practices and procedures
- Ability to use various hand tools, power tools, overhead cranes, and lift trucks
- Ability to use existing tooling and fixtures for machining workpieces
- Ability to read, interpret and communicate safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, diagrams, and blueprints
- Must be able to work well with others in a team environment
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, apply basic trigonometry and geometry concepts
- An ability to become proficient in a variety of software programs
- Simple understanding of programming
Experience
Minimum 1 year related experience and or training; certification from college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience
