Job Description
The Role:
A Machinist II functions as a member of an area team that is directly responsible for the efficient production of quality products in the requited quantities. This role will operate/change over specified machinery in the assigned area. Machinist II must have the skill set to train and perform the tasks of other employees in the department as needed. This job requires strong communication, interpersonal and team building skills to support the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Full command of various machining processes including milling, turning (manual)
- Proficient in the setup, editing, and operation of lathes and mills.
- Versed in Rotary or Indexing capability as the application applies to the Vertical and Horizontal Machine Center.
- Operates equipment in a safe and efficient manner using proper feed and speed
- Takes corrective actions in solving problems to root cause level
- Assess equipment operating reliability and perform routine repairs, adjustments and malfunction troubleshooting.
- Performs and/or works with Maintenance to complete equipment preventive maintenance
- Demonstrates high degree of ownership for product quality: check parts to ensure specifications are met according to print.
- Operates lift truck with certification.
- Understands production schedules, production computer systems, work instructions and production inventories.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures.
