Position summary
We are currently seeking a responsible and experienced CNC LeadMachinist to join our team. This is a working lead position which requires the operation of CNC mills while leading a small team of operators as well.
Job responsibilities
- Operate CNC machines for the purpose of meeting production requirements while maintaining a safe and productive environment.
- Responsible for machine efficiencies meeting daily goals
- Complete set-ups or changeovers per company or management instructions as applicable.
- Prove programs out by identifying tool stick out and tool holder clearance on multi axis setups
- Monitors machine operation and production processes for the purpose of identifying tool wear, correct machine operation, part quality, and part production quantity.
- Makes offset adjustments, CNC program adjustments, and documents such, and/or tooling and insert changes as required to maintain maximum part quality and consistent production quantity.
- Identify issues and communicate with programmer as required
- Inspects parts being produced mechanically and visually by using a variety of precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, height gages, gage pins, and thread gages as required for the purpose of meeting blueprint, work order, engineering, or customer specifications.
- Maintain accurate timekeeping using the company shop floor system.
- Box, package, protects and identifies and maintains product identification, as produced for the purpose of maintaining part quality and traceability.
- Maintains a clean workstation; daily sweeping, decluttering and replacing shop materials/tools to appropriate designated areas.
- Perform daily machine maintenance
Requirements
- A high school diploma is required.
- 8+ years of precision CNC mill experience.
- Must be able to work cooperatively in a team environment.
- Must be very well organized.
- Must be a self-motivated individual.
- Must have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and work under deadline pressure.
- Mechanical aptitude
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- US citizen or permanent resident
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
- Noise levels ranging from quiet to loud
- Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when working on the manufacturing floor including, but not limited to, eye and ear protection.
- May occasionally lift and /or move up to 10-50 pounds
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to $30.00 per hour
