Job Summary: Aids Production Manager in the improvement of operational efficiency and supervision of staff. Trains staff in and reviews adherence to company as well as governmental safety guidelines. Contributes to the development of budget, equipment maintenance and other operational policies.
Evaluates staff performance and takes disciplinary action when required. Direct, supervise and coordinate the activities of production and operating workers, including precision workers, machine set up operators, CNC machinists and machine operators. Ensure staff compliance with company and government safety guidelines and policies. Provides and records training in accordance with IMS Training Program. Confer and interface with other departments to ensure customer order deadlines are met.
Assist in the coordination of job scheduling and material movement through the shop. Refer to production schedules and estimate worker hour requirements for completion of job assignments. Plan flow of materials through department.
Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules. Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of department. Coordinate with Quality Control to ensure product accuracy and conformance.
Work in concert with Production Manager for scheduling of time and resources. Analyze and resolve work problems, or assist workers in solving work problems. Inspect material, equipment and product to maintain organization standards.
Runs staff meetings to discuss key performance indicators and track progress towards production goals. Interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations. Maintain appropriate labor-management relationship with subordinates.
Maintain confidentiality of Company and Employee information; know what and when to share. Responsible, under guidance of Production Manager, for training efforts for employee development. May assist Production Manager with hiring and firing of staff.
