Machine Operator C-CNC Router- 2nd shift

JOB SUMMARY:
To cut a variety of materials to specified shapes and sizes using CNC Routers. May be required to work with higher grade operators while in training.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Sets up and operates a computer numerical control (CNC) router to cut a variety of materials.
- Works from oral and written instructions, sets-up sheets and N/C disk readouts.
- Reviews set-up sheet, secures material stock to machine bed, and mounts specified router and drill bits.
- Installs machine control disk in reader of control console. Observes machine operations for proper functioning. May override disk control feed and speed using manual data input to prevent broken tools and damaged material.
- Removes excess material and parts when operation is complete.
- May require editing of CNC programs as necessary.
- Requires contact with Manufacturing Engineering or Experimental to coordinate machine operations on both tool proving and production parts. May suggest changes on machine sequencing, feeds, speeds, and parts layout for optimum usage of raw stock.
- Utilizes a variety of hand tools such as wrenches, large hammers, and measuring instruments such as scale and tape. May also require finishing parts by sanding, hand routing or burring.
- May require the use of moving equipment to stage work and to perform other functions of this job. Moving equipment is defined as, but not limited to: forklift; crane or tug, etc.
- Performs other related duties as required.
EDUCATION:
Must have a high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification or
equivalent. Must also possess a vocational certificate/diploma related to CNC Machining.
EXPERIENCE:
No experience required but must possess a vocational certificate/diploma outlined in education.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Somewhat disagreeable due to surrounding noise. Typical machine shop working conditions.
