Role: Machine Operator
Location: Newport
Salary: £25,000 to £30,000 per annum
Shift: Monday - Thursday 7:30 am to 4:30 pm and 7:30 am to 12:30 pm on Friday
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Works Engineer to join an established engineering company based in Newport.
This market leading engineering business, operating in a wide range of industries including aerospace, defence, automotive and transportation.

Pension - match contribution from 4% - 10%

Main responsibilities:
Responsible for setting up and operating a variety of machinery within the finishing department (cylindrical / surface / polishing)
Carry out routine operator maintenance tasks
Responsible for quality of work and level of production
Ensure that components are finished accordingly to the quality standards
Inspect parts before and after processing to ensure preceding operations have been carried out correctly
Good housekeeping (5s) of own work area and contribute to the general upkeep of the working environment
Operate in a safe manner and undertake any training necessary to enable you to fulfil the requirements of your position
Ensure a high level of communication to employees, managers & colleagues
Qualifications, experience and skills:
Previous experience of setting and operating manual machines
Experience in reading/interpreting engineering drawings.
Competent in the use of measuring equipment and measuring techniques
A team player with a “can do attitude” and attention to detail
