They are currently recruiting for a Logistics/Transportation Coordinator job in Stamford, CT.

A Day In The Life of a Logistics/Transportation Coordinator
The position you are applying for is required to be able to structure the department to coordinate and streamline both the receiving and shipping processes. The company needs a person with knowledge of export and import regulations and required paperwork, computer literate, attention to detail, organization skills, and the ability to multitask.
Essential Duties of The Logistics/Transportation Coordinator
- Complete company accounting to include daily AR and AP, Month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing journal entries, accruals, and allocations
- Maintain balance sheet accounts
- Establish accounts with vendors, suppliers, and financial institutions
- Support reconciling inter-company transactions
- Maintain compliance with internal control objectives
- Assist in special and ongoing projects designed to improve financial visibility and department efficiency
- Assist our accounting firm in completing year-end closing and tax filings
- Budget creation
- Perform other duties as assigned
General Tasks
- The ability to take detailed direction.
- Must be able to work in a team-oriented environment.
Job Requirements and Qualifications
Education: (or equivalent years of experience).
- 5 years or more of Logistics/Transportation experience is required.
Experience:
- Strong computer skills.
- Knowledge of UPS and FedEx software is a plus.
Knowledge Requirements
- Basic knowledge of shipping and receiving practices.
- Knowledge of UPS and FedEx software is a plus.
Personal Specification/Essential Qualities
- Lift more than 50 lbs and handle large freight shipments.
- Communication skills; the ability to take detailed direction.
- Familiar with international shipping requirements.
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record.
- Self-motivated and proactive, positive attitude.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Must be able to work in a team-oriented environment.
