Job Overview
The Logistics Manager is a dual role responsible for overseeing the day-to-day logistics operations while aligning with both financial and operational strategies. This position involves managing operational activities and ensuring they are conducted efficiently and in accordance with financial objectives.
Specific Duties
1. Coordinate Daily Operations
· This involves scheduling and overseeing the daily activities of dispatch and delivery. The supervisor ensures that operations run smoothly, that shipments are dispatched on time, and that service delivery meets customer expectations.
2. Collaborate with Finance
· Here, the supervisor works closely with the finance department to develop and adhere to operational budgets. This includes monitoring expenditures, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and ensuring operations are financially sustainable.
3. Work with Sales
· The supervisor collaborates with the sales team to ensure that the operational side of the business supports and enhances sales initiatives. This may involve coordinating logistics to meet specific customer demands or aligning delivery schedules with sales promotions.
4. Oversee Dispatch and Logistics Teams
· The supervisor manages these teams, ensuring they are well-coordinated and effective. This includes training staff, monitoring their performance, and providing necessary support. Primary modes of transportation are Expedite and Truckload.
5. Emergency Response Training
· Conducting regular training sessions on emergency response and preparedness.
6. Cross-Training
· Encouraging employees to learn different aspects of operations to increase versatility and team resilience.
7. Regular Review and Updates to Training Material
· Continuously assessing and updating training materials to reflect current industry practices and operational changes.
8. Office Schedule
· Managing office schedules to ensure adequate staffing during 24/7 operational hours and balancing workloads.
9. Handle all Vacation and Personal Time Off Requests
· Managing employees' requests for time off, ensuring it does not disrupt operational efficiency.
10. Implement and Maintain Standards
· This duty involves establishing operational guidelines and practices, ensuring they are followed, and updating them as necessary to improve efficiency, safety, and compliance with regulations.
Qualifications
1. Experience in freight brokerage a must, preferably in the expediting and truckload sectors.
2. Strong leadership and team management skills.
3. Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
4. Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and compliance requirements.
5. Available to assist with all operational needs 24/7.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $72,500.00 per year
