Logistics Engineer

Position includes identifying requirements that support deployed systems including all maintenance and support tasks and planning and support Logistics Demonstrations. Position responsibilities will also include assisting the technical publications and training teams in development of compliant technical publications and training materials. Logistics engineering tasks include:
* Research and write technical content for maintenance technical manuals including installation, test, repair, and troubleshooting procedures utilizing engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and other design documentation for field and depot level repair of military systems.
* Develop logistics work products such as Logistics Support Analysis records, Integrated Support Plans, Integrated Logistics Support guidance conference preparation/conduct, supply support requirements, Packaging Handling Shipping and Transportation (PHS&T) support requirements, transportation coordination, technical coordination and flight test support as required.
* Plan and perform maintenance and maintainability demonstrations for customers.
* Analyze preliminary plans and develop Logistics Engineering programs to achieve company, customer and governmental agency sustainment objectives.
* Develop recommendations for field/depot spares, repair parts and support equipment (SE).
* Review engineering designs, interact with engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, program managers and customers during Logistics Engineer analyses and sustainment planning to develop repair procedures, tool and support equipment requirements.
* As necessary, proposes changes in design or supportability process to improve supportability design/performance.
* Review handbooks, technical publications and training materials for technical adequacy.
* Support planning and development of technical publications and training material.
* Plan and manage tools, support equipment, and spares coordination efforts for deployed units and test activities.
* Review field and depot repair efforts and recommend corrective actions.
* Support coordination meetings and reviews with the customer.
* Review Engineering Change Proposals (ECP), support Concept Screening Board (CSB) and Configuration Control Board (CCB).
* Participate in IPTs, Corrective Action Boards (CAB) and Failure Review Boards (FRB), as required.
* Provide logistics input and support to proposal efforts, design reviews and test activities, as required.
Required Skills
* Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 4 years of professional experience
* Ability to research and write technical content for maintenance technical manuals including installation, test, repair, and troubleshooting procedures utilizing engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and other design documentation including definition of tool and consumable requirements.
* Ability to acquire and verify subject matter content by interviewing workers engaged in developing products, observing production methods, referring to engineering drawings, notes, manuals, and similar publications.
* Ability to write using clear and concise language that adheres to customer-established standards and conventions.
* Experience developing Logistics analysis, including spares analysis in accordance with MIL-HDB-502
* Proficiency with Logistics Management Information Systems compliant with GEIA-STD-0007
* Proficiency with SLIC Wave Logistics Management Information System
* Experience developing field and depot level troubleshooting and repair procedures to customer requirements
* Working knowledge of field and depot sustainment and/or repair processes and activities.
* Possess good computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
* Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
* Strong technical background
* Ability to quickly learn new software tools and processes
* Must be able to work well in a team environment
* Self-starter capable of performing assigned tasks with very little or no direction; interacts well with others.
* Analytical thinker with a demonstrated ability of solving complex problems which require ingenuity and innovation.
* Ability to work with cross functional teams.
* Experience with developing and delivering presentations to peers, management, and Customer.
* Ability to obtain a Gov't Secret Security Clearance
* Candidate must be willing to work overtime and travel as needed to support program requirements
Desired Skills
* Proficiency with Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) tools and/or CAD Viewers
* Working knowledge and proficiency with Hyper Text Markup Language (HTML), eXtensible Markup Language (XML), Standard Generalized Markup Language (SGML) and Extensible Stylesheet Language Transformation (XSLT)
* Working knowledge and proficiency with Arbortext Editor including Styler (5.4 or higher) and UltraEdit or similar tools
* Working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat Pro
* Graphics illustration experience and skills using graphics tools such as ISOdraw, Autotrol or similar graphics tools
* Proficiency as a technical writer
* Working knowledge of MIL-STD-40051-1 and MIL-STD-40051-2 preferably Revision B, MIL-STD-2361C, MIL-PRF-63002 for Modification Work Orders, and MIL-PRF-63033 for Demilitarization
* Experience leading or supporting Technical Publication validation and verification events
* Experience leading or supporting Logistics Demonstration test events
* Past military experience
Active SECET clearance desired.
