Job Description: We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Logistics Coordinator. In this position, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and administration of a standardized inventory management system, focusing on Preparedness and Response assets throughout District 4. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in monitoring resource deployment, ensuring inventory standards, and responding to emergencies and disasters as part of a dynamic team.
All District 4 Public Health, County BOH employees are deemed essential employees in the event of an emergency. As such, you may be called on to participate in an event not limited to but including, staffing a shelter, a Specimen Point of Collection Site (SPOC) and/or Point of Distribution site (POD). When you are called on to participate, you are expected and it will be a part of your job requirement to participate, whether the emergency occurs during or outside regular work hours.
Job Responsibilities
Essential functions include, but not limited to:
Identify trends, discrepancies, and variances to enhance operational efficiency. Exercise independent judgment within established parameters. Manage the upkeep of departmental trailers and the inventory associated with them. Maintain department records and files. Update and maintain the department's ReadyOp emergency notification system. Assist in preparing documents, reports, and presentations. Follow up on action items. Manage travel, expense paperwork, requisitions, and purchase orders for the department. Engage with District and County personnel at all levels, fostering respect, cooperation, and excellence in performance. Handle multiple urgent priorities simultaneously and see them through to resolution effectively. Communicate information accurately and professionally. Coordinate team schedules and convey necessary information in a timely manner. Accept and act on supervisor feedback appropriately. Cultivate a high-performance environment characterized by positive leadership and strong team orientation. Respond promptly to directives, assignments, and instructions. Possess at least intermediate Microsoft Office skills. Regularly travel throughout the 12 counties in District 4. Deliver/transport supplies to counties as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Logistics Coordinator:
Associate's degree from an accredited college or university OR Two years of experience in materials management OR One year of experience at the lower level Purchasing Asst 1 (FET040) or position equivalent. This position requires possession of valid driver's license and ability to pass requirements to drive agency vehicles.

- Note: Inventory upkeep requires meeting specific physical criteria:
- Lift up to 50 pounds.
- Maneuver loads using a manual pallet jack.
- Ability to routinely pull, push, and squat to maneuver assets and materials.
- Safely operate a ladder, hand trucks, and basic tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, pliers, etc.
- Work in challenging weather conditions, if required.
- Be available to respond during emergencies and disasters.
- Note: Inventory upkeep requires meeting specific physical criteria:
