Job Description: We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Logistics Coordinator. In this position, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and administration of a standardized inventory management system, focusing on Preparedness and Response assets throughout District 4. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in monitoring resource deployment, ensuring inventory standards, and responding to emergencies and disasters as part of a dynamic team.
All District 4 Public Health, County BOH employees are deemed essential employees in the event of an emergency. As such, you may be called on to participate in an event not limited to but including, staffing a shelter, a Specimen Point of Collection Site (SPOC) and/or Point of Distribution site (POD). When you are called on to participate, you are expected and it will be a part of your job requirement to participate, whether the emergency occurs during or outside regular work hours.
Job Responsibilities
Essential functions include, but not limited to:
- Manage the administration and maintenance of a standardized inventory management system encompassing Preparedness and Response assets throughout the 12-county district, including monitoring the deployment of resources within the region.
- Note: Inventory upkeep requires meeting specific physical criteria:
- Lift up to 50 pounds.
- Maneuver loads using a manual pallet jack.
- Ability to routinely pull, push, and squat to maneuver assets and materials.
- Safely operate a ladder, hand trucks, and basic tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, pliers, etc.
- Work in challenging weather conditions, if required.
- Be available to respond during emergencies and disasters.
- Note: Inventory upkeep requires meeting specific physical criteria:
Minimum Qualifications
Logistics Coordinator:
Associate's degree from an accredited college or university OR Two years of experience in materials management OR One year of experience at the lower level Purchasing Asst 1 (FET040) or position equivalent. This position requires possession of valid driver's license and ability to pass requirements to drive agency vehicles.
Additional Information
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in logistical planning and execution.
- Knowledge and experience working in FAMIS 360 inventory management system.
- Previous experience working in Public Health.
- Previous experience working in Emergency Management environment.
- FEMA IS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700 and 800 courses.
- Experience working Presidential Declared or Governor State of Emergency declared incidents.
