LOGISTICS AND FREIGHT CLAIM SPECIALIST

Description of Duties & Responsibilities

Position Reports to: Sales Support Supervisor

General Description: Logistics and Freight Claim Specialist with inventory knowledge

The candidate will:

• Be positive, organized, analytical, and detail-oriented
• Take initiative to self-analyze a situation and problem solve/avert a problem
• Be able to multitask under pressure and constantly re-prioritize tasks throughout the day
• Place a high degree of importance on clear and concise communication

Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for managing logistics activities in a manner that shall meet the goal of transportation cost reduction.
• File and follow through on all Freight Claims, working directly with preferred freight carrier
• Resolve problems concerning carriers, i.e. claims, policy infractions, etc
• Ensure compliance with established internal control procedures and SOPs
• Issue returns for unused material per SOP guidelines
• Manage day-to-day planning and scheduling
• Communicate effectively with team members and other departments to ensure a seamless workflow
• Review freight bills, check rates and discounts, and approve freight bills from our carriers for shipments to our customers.
• Monthly tracking reports to chain concepts or as requested.
• Assist with work order entry and tracking as needed
• Communicate with AE’s, Sales Support and billers to reach common goals

Skills & Experience:

• Dependable individual with excellent organizational and time management skills

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to accept direction from multiple sources

• Capacity to learn quickly when faced with new opportunities or challenges
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including Excel and ability to learn and demonstrate proficiency in new software systems
• Ability to follow procedures
• Problem analysis and resolution
• Strong oral and written communications skills
• Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization.
• Logistics industry knowledge advanced required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
