The primary responsibility for this position will be to support the Lock Desk by reviewing rate locks, validating current locks, completing change requests, and handling extensions, while adhering to and enforcing rate lock policies. Works closely with the Pricing Manager, the Post Closing Departments, and other teams to help develop and implement pricing and product strategies designed to meet the overall goals.
As a Lock Desk Specialist, you will:
- Process new rate lock requests as submitted by loan officers through Encompass.
- Process rate lock extensions and other changes to loan characteristics and ensures any pricing considerations are addressed.
- Ensures pricing for all locks is correctly recorded in system.
- Performs data entry for all mandatory loan sales and updates investor information (commitment number, investor loan number, delivery date, pricing, etc.).
- Utilizes information in Encompass to assist loan officers in selecting appropriate product and pricing.
- Monitors rate lock expirations on loans and keep communication open with loan officers.
- Assists post-closing department with any revisions to locks necessary to facilitate getting loans purchased.
- Assist in requesting funds for closed loans through investors.
- Participate in department and vendor meetings, in person and remote, to gain important understanding into the operation and updates used to perform duties.
- Perform the job in accordance with applicable industry laws and regulations as well as the policies and procedures established by the company.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Some college preferred.
- Excellent organizational and customer service skills.
- Must be willing to work in a fast paced, high level environment.
- Must be able to determine priorities, and make decisive quick decisions.
- Prior Experience with Encompass is preferred.
- Advanced analytical skills with an enhanced background and understanding of the mortgage business preferred.
