Capitol Federal is hiring a Loan Service Representative. The Loan Service Representative works with the Director of Loan Servicing, Assistant Director of Loan Servicing, Loan Servicing Regional Managers, Loss Mitigation Manager, and Loan Insurance Manager in executing the Bank's mortgage loan servicing activities in accordance with established servicing objectives and philosophies. Duties include, but are not limited to, activities involving various loan types, property/collateral and flood and private mortgage and credit insurance, real estate taxes, pre-authorized payment transfers, on-line payments, ARM adjustments, credit reporting, escrow accounts, loan endorsements, loan modifications, extensions/renewals, collections, loan payoffs, lien releases, and loan foreclosure.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Processes and remits payments of property insurance, flood insurance, private mortgage insurance, and credit insurance. Processes and remits payments of real estate taxes. Validates loan data for accuracy and completeness. Processes insurance claim checks. Researches delinquent tax situations.
- Responds to inquiries from other department employees and customers. Researches loan payments, interest rates, escrow, ARM adjustment, credit reporting, IRS reporting, and other servicing situations and completes corrections as appropriate.
- Processes foreclosure and OREO activities. Completes reporting for internal and external purposes. Processes payments of legal and other expenses.
- Establishes, maintains, and terminates pre-authorized transfer records. Researches and corrects misapplied loan payments. Researches on-line payment issues. Processes returned payment items. Monitors unapplied funds activity and completes payments as appropriate.
- Completes payoff quotes in response to internal and external requests. Processes lien releases for paid off loans.
- Processes loan endorsements, modifications, extensions/renewals, and researches and documents address changes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
- Must comply with current applicable laws, regulations and bank policies and procedures. Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
Experience
- A minimum of one year up to three years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience.
- A high school degree or equivalent.
Regular in-office attendance required.
