A Brief Overview
The Guest Service Representative presents an observant, friendly, helpful first impression to anyone entering and exiting the main entrance of the health center.
Education Qualifications

  • High School Diploma / GED Required

Experience Qualifications
  • 1 year Customer service experience. Required
  • 1 year Clerical experience. Preferred

Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to read and speak effectively with customer and staff. (Required proficiency)
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. (Required proficiency)
  • Ability to use e-mail to stay informed of health center communications. (Required proficiency)
  • Ability to look patient appointments up in EPIC. Access email to stay informed of Health Center communication. (Required proficiency)

What you will do
  • Welcomes all patient, visitors, guests, etc. into the center. Uses FAQs and scripted language to answer standard questions or convey consistent messages.
  • Safely assist customers to their destination via walk or wheelchair escort. This includes safe transport of customer from a car parked at entrance.
  • Maintain adequate supply of wheelchairs and other guest aids are at main entrance. Check for any broken or unsafe wheelchair, place a sign on the chair "broken", and take the chair to the Facilities Management department. Provide routine sanitation of wheelchairs located at main entrance.
  • Ensure that all oxygen tanks left at the main entrance are properly taken to a nursing floor for storage.
  • Observes and notifies Facilities Management if repairs need to be made. Observes and notifies Security in the case of an emergency or escalated situation. Notifies nursing or healthcare staff in the case of a medical emergency. Calls transportation services for patients, when needed.
  • Maintain a well-kept area by straightening up the magazines, throwing away trash or straightening the furniture.
  • Assist incoming customers by offering to carry patient belongings for those being admitted to the hospital.
  • Ensure that all oxygen tanks left at the main entrance are properly taken to a nursing floor for storage.
  • Train new volunteers in department procedures.
  • Interacts with other staff members in a way that promotes a positive work environment.
  • Check that there are adequate supplies in the information kiosks and replenish supplies as necessary.
  • Assist staff/volunteers with various mailings by addressing labels and sorting for mail.
