The Loan Documentation Specialist is responsible for producing consumer, commercial and home equity loan types, including but not limited to general administrative duties relating thereto. Performs pre-funding, post-closing reviews and booking of loans and verification of collateral. Interfaces with division/department staff in the prompt resolution of problems related to Loan Documentation and processing. Provides customer service/support to Relationship Managers.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assembles Loan Documentation files.
- Reviews pre-requisite requirements are adhered to prior to preparing loan documents (due diligence, UCC-1 searches, corporate searches, proper lending authority, collateral, etc.).
- Prepares loan documents for all loan types (i.e. consumer, commercial and home equity).
- Reviews flood determinations for accuracy.
- Requests, reviews and ascertains appropriate insurance coverage for all loan types.
- Obtains title searches and/or title commitment for Title Insurance for home equity loans.
- Orders "Hold" on CD's and Repo's pledged as collateral.
- Conducts review of loans prior to funding, bar-coding and booking.
- Creates and maintains records for pending documentation exceptions.
- Provides client service/support to Relationship Managers.
- Works independently in the preparation of Loan Documentation for all loan types (i.e., consumer, commercial, commercial real estate and home equity lines of credit), including interaction with attorneys and/or title agents to handle real-estate secured transactions, review of title searches and title commitments prior to closing, resolution of title issues, review of HUD-1 Settlement Statements, preparation of escrow letters and responsibility for ascertaining proper conditions for funding.
Qualifications
- Two to four years of experience with preparation of Loan Documentation for various loan types.
- Experienced with automated Loan Documentation prep systems.
- Preferred experience with both LaserPro and attorney-drafted loans.
- Established knowledge of rules, regulations, and policies relating to Loan Documentation.
- Excellent analytical, decision-making, and effective problem resolution skills.
- Proven ability to work productively and efficiently without direct supervision.
- Able to manage high volume of activity and maintain production goals.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work well in a collaborative, cohesive, and cooperative team environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both verbally and in writing, with customer, coworkers and third parties..
- Competent in the use of personal computer systems, internet applications and email, and various windows based software applications.
Education
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
