SUMMARY:
This position has responsibilities for supporting Quality activities in the plant. Assist the Quality Team in performing daily functions. Review and manage all controlled documents.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review and sign off on paperwork from all departments. Send a report daily to all managers.
- Report any issues in daily paperwork to Quality Manager.
- Review and verify all labels.
- Manage all controlled documents and revisions for the entire plant.
- Electronically and physically file all paperwork in a manner to be able to pull documents easily as needed.
- Coordinate and manage Mock recalls for the plant.
- Perform and manage glass, hard plastics, ceramics check.
- Order items needed for the QA dept.
- Assist with auditing all departments for Quality Systems. Assist with corrective / preventive actions from the audits.
- Manage and perform GMP walkthroughs. Follow up with all dept.'s for corrective actions.
- Participate in the HACCP team.
- Assist in all external audits for the plant as needed.
- Maintain SDS sheets for the plant.
- Manage all external QI samples and any samples to be sent to outside labs.
- Swab tanks as needed.
- Manage the bottling line retain sample log.
- Assist with MPD's and MFS's for Lake Alfred.
- Assist with updating and maintaining Product Packaging Specifications.
- Report all findings whether good or bad to the QA manager.
- Complete COA's.
- Assist others in the Quality department when needed, including but not limited to line inspections and laboratory testing.
EDUCATION
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- College Degree preferred
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 2 years in food processing industry, required.
- Minimum 2 years of HACCP experience, preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communications, as well as effective interpersonal skills required.
- Strong experience working with MS Office platforms, Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Must be able to work and function in a team environment.
- Experience with ERP platforms, preferred.
- Ability to work with all levels within in the organization.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to maintain accurate records.
- Ability to adapt to changing business needs and deadlines on short notice.
- Continuous mental and visual attention is required to perform duties.
- Ability to work in extreme temperatures, working at heights and exposure to dust, gases, fumes and chemicals.
- Intermittent crouching/stooping, pushing/pulling, bending and lifting/lowering.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance, or up to 100 pounds with assistance.
- Must be able to work Long-term, temporary assignments to any shift may be required to maintain manufacturing processes.
- Duties are performed with exposure to noise.
